A talk that everybody agrees with changes nothing.

I start my talks with questions that spark real inquiry. I don’t bring the comfortable version — I take apart the assumptions the room is standing on.

Oftentimes those assumptions are that a person is what they produce. That identity is something you get good at performing. That the systems we live inside were built with humans in mind. None of these beliefs survives contact with several thousand recorded conversations, or the dataset built from them.

I bring a different perspective. What we’ve settled for is not the best we can do. The voice inside, that you stopped listening to years ago, still yearns for more. And most of the rules that people are exhausted by turn out to be optional.

Conformity isn’t the route out of alienation; self-understanding is.

And the dream you have inside of you can be brought to life, if only you understood what you wanted, and connected with people who share it.

A more utopian world is possible.

Signature topics

01

The Doable UtopiaRebuilding society for humans

Not a faraway dream. What a society looks like when people follow the inner voice early instead of thirty years late, and why that is closer to reach than the room assumes. It ends with the part most utopias skip: what one person can start on Monday.

The room leaves with a version of the future it can act on
02

Authenticity Over PerformanceThe end of performing identity

Ask most people who they are and you get a job title. Ask twice more and the room goes quiet. This talk sits in that quiet: where the performance came from, what it costs to keep running, and what is actually left when somebody stops.

Permission to stop performing, and the reasoning to defend it
03

Human-Grounded AIEmpathy beyond algorithm

The honest version of the AI conversation. Most systems model behaviour because behaviour is cheap to measure. I built one that reads motivation instead — reviewed by psychologists, explainable line by line. What changes when the machine is grounded in the person rather than the click.

A standard for judging any AI put in front of them
04

The Primacy of Self-UnderstandingYour missing operating system

Self-understanding is not the cherry on the cake, it is the foundation. Everything an organisation asks of a person — judgement, resilience, decisions under pressure — runs on a layer nobody installed. This is what that layer is, and what it costs to keep operating without it.

Why every other initiative keeps underperforming

Where this has been said

Stages where the argument has already been made in front of people who could push back on it.

  • United Nations

  • What a room leaves with

Most audiences arrive tired of scalable confusion — plenty of activity, plenty of language, nothing underneath any of it — and quietly looking for something with more meaning in it. Four things tend to land.

    i.

    Assumptions, questioned

The one the room was built on, named out loud. That is usually the moment the talk stops being a talk.

    ii.

    Something actionable

Not a framework. A question they can ask themselves on the way home, and one they can put to their team on Monday.

    iii.

    Purpose, back in the room

Not motivation. The specific reason a person started, recovered from wherever it quietly got filed.

    iv.

    Permission

Liberation from rules nobody ever checked. Break any that do not hurt anyone — most of them qualify.

    The same question, different rooms

    Leaders

    Boards, offsites, executive teams

The provocation lands harder where the performance costs more. Nobody in the room has been asked this in a while, and they notice.

    Students

    Universities and lecture halls

The searching student gets the version before the track hardens — roughly thirty years earlier than most people hear it.

    Public

    Conferences and festivals

Mixed audiences who share no job title and no industry. It works because the question underneath is the same one for everybody.

    Booking and media

Two different requests, two different routes. Both land with me, not with an assistant.

    Speaking engagements

    Inquire about speaking

Send the four things below and you will get a straight answer on availability and fit, usually in the same week.

    • Date and cityIncluding whether the date is fixed or still moving.
    • FormatKeynote, moderated conversation, or a workshop that goes deeper.
    • The roomWho is in it, roughly how many, and what they do.
    • The shiftWhat the event is actually trying to change in the people attending.

    Media and press

    Interviews, comment and podcasts

For press enquiries, say the outlet, the angle you are working on and the deadline. If the angle is about AI and psychology, say which of the two you want the argument from — the answer is different.
